It’s awesome that more and more people are gearing towards a healthier lifestyle and jumping on the fitness bandwagon. More than the lean muscles and lowered BMIs, however, folks should not forget about their oral health, too. American adults are recommended to have dental visits at least twice a year to prevent oral problems from ruining natural smiles. Unfortunately, it has become a bad habit to have an appointment only when an illness is already present.

Little Blin Rollins has a profound sweet tooth. According to his mother Amy, the boy chooses to drink juice instead of water, and doesn’t turn down almost any kind of sweet treat—from candies to chocolate and ‘gummy stuff’. The boy’s habit led the family dentist to recommend that the former get dental sealants on his permanent molars, in order to stifle tooth decay. What Blin’s mother didn’t know is that her son’s mouth is the subject of a long-standing debate in dentistry.

Your teeth work in the toughest conditions imaginable for any part of your body. They work in either freezing to near-boiling temperatures, are susceptible to damaging acid 24/7, surrounded by massive numbers of bacteria, and regularly absorb forces amounting from 120 to 150 pounds per square inch. San Diego, California (May 13, 2015) – A+ Family Dentistry, a dental office for people looking for a dentist in San Diego, received great news as two of its dentists were named among the Top 40 under 40 dentists. This award is from Incisal Edge, a magazine by Benco Dental that celebrates dental professionals’ life and lifestyle. Every year, the magazine takes nominations for dentists in the United States who are under the age of 40, and rank them according to how they set benchmarks for outstanding dentistry practices in the present and the future. Each nominee is judged by the advisory board of Incisal Edge. Winners are then given recognition in a 2-day event (May 28th and 29th) in New York, and then profiled in the magazine, as well as online.
